NIYFFL Border Patrol Program
Spirit of the Rule
NIYFFL is a community-based league committed to fair play, competitive balance, and local participation. Any actions that undermine these principles, including organized recruiting or circumvention of transfer rules, will be addressed accordingly.
NIYFFL Home Program & Transfer Policy
1. Home Program Requirement
Any player who participated in the Northern Illinois Youth Flag Football League (NIYFFL) during the 2026 season is required to return to their designated home program for the 2026 season.
Players must participate with the NIYFFL organization located in the closest geographic proximity to their primary residence. Participation should also align, where applicable, with the high school community the player is projected to attend.
2. Recruiting Prohibition
NIYFFL strictly prohibits the recruitment of players for the purpose of improving team competitiveness or forming non-community-based teams.
Organizations, coaches, and representatives may not solicit, encourage, or influence players to leave their home program in order to create competitive, “travel,” or “super” teams during the spring season.
3. Transfer Requests
Players requesting to participate with an NIYFFL organization other than their designated home program must submit a formal transfer request and obtain approval from NIYFFL prior to participation.
• All transfer requests must be submitted no later than February 23rd.
• Approval is not guaranteed and is subject to review.
4. Enforcement
Participation with a non-approved organization constitutes a violation of league policy and may result in player ineligibility, team sanctions, or additional disciplinary action as determined by the NIYFFL.
