SPRING & FALL LEAGUE INFO
NIYFFL league offers spring and fall league play for boys and girls ages 6–14 in Northern Illinois.
Spring season runs April - May and is seven weeks including six regular season games and an additional two day playoff series.
Fall season runs September - October and is eight weeks including seven regular season games and an additional two day playoff series.
Whether your child is new to the sport or looking to grow their skills, our program provides a balanced mix of skill development, friendly competition, and community spirit. All skill levels are welcome!
Fall 2025 Season General Information
• Two flag offerings: Boys league and Girls league
• BOYS GRADES: Kinder - 8th
• GIRLS GRADES: 2nd - 8th
• Eight Week Season which Includes Playoffs
• One Practice per Week (coaches choice)
• Practices Begin the week of August 25th
• Games start Sunday, September 7th
• Last games/playoffs are October 25th/26th
• All Games Played on Sundays
• Games Start at 11:00 am and run hourly (some may go as late as 7:00 pm)
• Boys Team Divisions; K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th/8th
• GIRLS Team Divisions: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th
• Volunteer Parent Coaches and High School Player Referees

We offer flag to all 6 -14 year olds in either the boys program or the girls program.
EXPERIENCE:
Does my player need to have prior football experience?
NIYFFL is an all-play league. It is perfect for first timers as well as more experienced players.
Time:
What is the overall time commitment?
Games are held once a week on Sundays and typically require a time commitment of approximately 60 minutes. Practices are an hour-long per week.
Practices:
When and where are practices held?
Practice days/times and location are deheltermined by each individual head coach. Coaches will do their best to accommodate players’ schedules so as to maximize practice participation.
Games Play:
- NIYFFL plays a 7-on-7 format.
- Regular season games are played on Sundays
- Playoffs are Saturday/Sunday
Jerseys
All jerseys are provided by program directors and standardized with velcro attachable flags.
