Northern Illinois Elite – Girls Flag Football

The Northern Illinois Youth Flag Football League (NIYFFL) is excited to introduce a new competitive opportunity for girls flag football athletes: Northern Illinois Elite.

This program offers motivated players the chance to join our clinic and earn a roster spot on one of our Elite teams. The clinic will be led by experienced coaches and will include position, sped and agility drills. The program is created for athletes who are ready to challenge themselves, elevate their skills, and compete at a higher level of play.

Northern Illinois Elite is open exclusively to athletes who participate in our NIYFFL House League, providing a clear and intentional development pathway beyond the recreational level. The program is designed to bridge the gap between house league play and advanced competition, while continuing to prioritize confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game.

Elite athletes will focus on:

• Advanced skill development
• Game strategy and situational awareness
• Football IQ and positional understanding
• Competitive play in a supportive, high-energy environment

Players selected for Northern Illinois Elite will train under experienced and dedicated league-provided coaches who offer hands-on instruction and intentional training sessions. Through structured practices and competitive experiences, athletes will gain the tools needed to perform at a higher level, including preparation for regional competition and future flag football opportunities.

This program is ideal for athletes who are motivated, coachable, and eager to take the next step in their flag football journey while proudly representing Northern Illinois at an elite level.

Girls Elite Offering – 5th - 8th Grade

• Open to all NIYFFL house league participants in 5th - 8th grade
• House league participation is required
• Clinic with evaluations
• Teams will practice two times a week after house league concludes
• Scrimmage games may be scheduled if enough teams are formed or if outside competition is secured
• Participation in national tournaments with priority being closest in proximity
• Coaches provided by NIYFFL
• Fee TBD (finalized after gauging interest)
